Tweet on Twitter Well, we near the end of the long tale of Hamer USA Guitars, a saga that began in the early s and is today a great success story in American guitardom. The Eclipse Model GECS was a new asymmetrical offset double-cutaway design with short horns, the upper somewhat larger and rounded, the lower more pointed, and a rounded lower bout. The body and glued-in neck were all-mahogany with a black-faced three-and-three Hamer headstock and screened logo. The Eclipse sported two Seymour Duncan mini-humbucking pickups with three-way select, one volume and one tone control. An Eclipse String was also available with the same specs. It had just slightly offset double cutaways with a slightly extended upper horn and a slightly deeper treble cutaway. Otherwise it was similar to the Sunburst. The body was mahogany with a carved, figured koa top with a glued-in mahogany neck. The Mirage was equipped with three Seymour Duncan single-coil-sized humbuckers all perpendicular to the strings — a Hot Rail at the bridge and two split-rail Vintage Rails. These were controlled by a five-way select and one volume and one tone control.

Designated in the eighth century a small territory around Bruges ; it became later the name of the country bounded by the North Sea, the Scheldt, and the Canche; in the fifteenth century it was even used by the Italians and the Spaniards as the synonym for the Low Countries; today Flanders belongs for the most part to Belgium, comprising the provinces of East Flanders and West Flanders. A part of it, known as French Flanders, has gone to France, and another small portion to Holland.
Flanders is an unpicturesque lowland, whose level is scarcely above that of the sea, which accounts for the fact that a great part of it was for a long time flooded at high water. The country took its present aspect only after a line of downs had been raised by the sea along its shore. The soil of Flanders, which for the most part was unproductive, owes its present fertility to intelligent cultivation; its products are various, but the most important are flax and hemp; dairying, market-gardening, and the manufacture of linens are the main Flemish industries.
At the time of its conquest by the Romans, Flanders was inhabited by the Morini, the Menapii, and the Nervii.

What types of finish options does Tacoma have available? How do I clean my guitar? Apply a small amount of pump polish to a soft dry cloth to clean the surface. If desired, use a dab of Carnauba wax on a soft cloth and apply in a circular motion to the surface.
Then simply buff to a high shine. To do so would eventually fill in the grain of the wood causing unsightly buildup. Instead, we suggest that you use a slightly damp soft cloth with a dab of mild liquid detergent to clean the soiled areas of the body and the back of the neck. Use a clean, damp section of the cloth to remove any residual detergent.

Was never able to use it on stage because it was far too bassy but used it on Stand Up on Nothing is Easy. I loved the shape of it and, switching from an Airline, I liked the shorter scale neck. I played it through an Acoustic , which seemed to be the biggest bottom most road durable amp of it’s day – Dennis Dunaway, Alice Cooper The difference between the EBO and the EB3 was the extra pickup and associated electronics in the bridge position on the EB3. Both used the same materials, mahogany bodies and necks maple necked from with rosewood and occasionally ebony fingerboards.
During much of the production run, the EB0 had a 3-ply pickguard b-w-b whilst the EB3s had 5-ply b-w-b-w-b. Strengths Short scale, mahogany throughout and the unique Gibson EB humbucker made for a quick playing bass with a heavy heavy sound. Weaknesses Sixties EBOs sixties Gibsons in general were prone to breaks in the headstock, around the body-neck join and also around the input jack. The back slanting headstock is unfortunate; if a guitar falls backwards, it’s headstock generally hits the ground first.
Mahogany can be brittle too, and such a fall can easily crack or even break the guitar.

Beginning players favor them for their inexpensive pricing and solid construction. Playing a Hohner guitar has at least one major disadvantage, however–It’s impossible for a Hohner owner to tell for certain when the guitar was made. Unlike other guitar makers that use specifically coded serial numbers to signify a guitar’s month and date of production, no such system exists for Hohner guitars. Dating a Hohner guitar requires the owner to describe the instrument in detail and ask the company to estimate the date of manufacture.
